Community Service

Fusion’s support of community initiatives has evolved over time. As our Company grows, the range of community initiatives and charitable organizations that we have decided to support is becoming more focused. Initially, as a small organization, Fusion made an effort to contribute financially to organizations that personally served or impacted our employees. An example of this support is our partnership with the American Cancer Society, which has presented to Fusion employees multiple educational presentations regarding cancer prevention through smoking cessation programs, nutritional awareness, and annual screenings. Fusion continues to support the American Cancer Society through charitable donations. Most recently, Fusion made individual donations to the American Cancer Society in honor or memory of every loved one of a Fusion employee who had been diagnosed with cancer.

To expand this concept, we have partnered with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Diabetes Association, and Mental Health America of Illinois by including them in our monthly wellness presentations. In doing so, Fusion formed an even closer partnership with our community.

Furthermore, Fusion has a long term relationship with Junior Achievement. Fusion’s commitment to providing children with educational opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum is aligned with the entrepreneurial spirit of our organization. This benefits both the volunteer organizations and our employees.

To support this commitment, Fusion has developed a long term relationship with Junior Achievement (JA,) an organization dedicated to preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Fusion provides paid opportunities for employees to act as agents of Junior Achievement at local schools. Through Fusion’s support of Junior Achievement, employees are taking the opportunity to work on the ground level to implement technical and entrepreneurial programs and curriculum in local schools. These programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

Additionally, Fusion reaches out to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to identify potential candidates for open positions. Fusion’s effort to employ veterans is ongoing and we consistently place ads on multiple job boards to obtain the largest and most diverse outreach for qualified candidates. In an effort to re-employ candidates negatively impacted by industry layoffs, Fusion is mindful to post open positions on job boards that are free of charge to all job seekers.

Lastly, Fusion has further expanded support to community and charitable organizations through a company match of all employee donations to organizations with 501c3 status.  To support our community, our employees and the organizations that provide critical services to our community, Fusion will match dollar for dollar each employee contribution to a qualifying organization.
