Okay, maybe we are not yet at the level of DoorDash, but we recently delivered and installed a CNC machine tending robot within two days of receiving the purchase order from a new client for our FC02 standard cobot solution. The client was eager to get the cobot installed as soon as possible and we provided swift responsiveness. We were able to make this client a priority with our experienced team at work. We have products in stock that are ready to go which makes our turnaround quick and efficient even in times of this virus which is having a tremendous effect on numerous businesses.
Here’s the timeline of this client’s journey with us.
Tuesday, March 10th – We received a call from a prospective client inquiring about our services.
Wednesday, March 11th – We visited the client to determine the best automation solutions for their CNC Lathe, did a site evaluation, and made recommendations based on their needs.
We sent a proposal to them that afternoon.
Thursday March 12th – The client called with a few questions which we addressed immediately.
Friday, March 13th – The client’s team visited Fusion to look at our showroom floor and see our cobots in action. They were able to better visualize how our solutions will work for them.
Friday afternoon, Governor Pritzker issues a stay-at-home order for Illinois. Only “essential businesses” could continue and avoid a shutdown. This prompted a discussion with the client about whether they should hold off to automate or proceed. We explained how we are an “essential business” and would continue to provide services to our customers. The client informed us their shop floor would be empty. We explained for the safety of everyone involved, now would be the ideal time to install. After a few days, the client decided they needed to get the project completed now, as it was a long overdue need.
Thursday, March 19th – The client gave us verbal approval.
Friday, March 20th – We received the purchase order.
Monday, March 23rd – We assembled the equipment for delivery.
Tuesday, March 24th – We delivered the cobot free of charge as part of the package. Installation took place at the client’s facility. (day 1)
Wednesday, March 25th – Training took place. (day 2)
Thursday, March 26th – The CNC machine tending solution was up and running produciton. (day 3)
